Introducing the
MAKO Robot
by Stryker Orthopaedics
I was born and bred in the Midlands and have returned to work as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Warwickshire after extensive training in the UK and abroad.
I graduated from Bristol Medical School in 1998 having also spent time studying in Strasbourg at the University of Louis Pasteur and at Groote Schuur Hospital in Cape Town. I completed my basic surgical training at Bristol Royal Infirmary including six months working at the Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia. I worked with the Exeter Hip Team as part of my higher surgical training. I was awarded the Cutner Travelling Fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2008 to undertake a fellowship in complex hip and knee surgery in Canada before returning to Warwick.
My main interests are in the treatment of complex hip and knee problems. I am an expert in minimally invasive surgery and in treating active patients who wish to recover quickly from surgery.
I specialise in:
- Hip Surgery – including minimally invasive surgery, primary hip replacements (cemented and uncemented), and complex revision surgery.
- Knee Surgery – including arthroscopic surgery and knee replacements.
- Trauma Surgery – particularly fractures around joint replacements.
